Dorothy Brougham

Dorothy E. Brougham (born November 21, 1923) of Pleasant Plains, retired Executive Secretary, died March 20,2020.

A native Staten Islander, she worked in Manhattan for 45 years, most of that time for The Anaconda Company. Her last position being Executive Secretary to the Chairman of the Board of The Parsons-Jurden Corp. Dorothy retired in 1984.

She was a graduate of Tottenville High School in 1940 and a graduate of Drake Business School in Manhattan.

Dorothy was an active member of St. Marks United Methodist Church in her home town, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was a member of the United Methodist Women and Chairwomen of the Church Council.

She was a member of the Tottenville AARP and Staten Island Church Women United. Dorothy had also been a member of the Pleasant Plains-Princess Bay-Richmond Valley Civic Association for 25 years.

Dorothy enjoyed God's natural world especially as she was growing up and living on the South Shore of Staten Island.

Surviving are several cousins and friends and her "church family".

Funeral from Bedell-Pizzo on Tuesday at 10:00 am. Internment to follow at Moravian Cemetery. Immediate Family may visit Monday from 2-4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Bethel United Methodist Church's General Fund in Dorothy's name, would be appreciated.
