Ellen Barron

Ellen Barron, 75, was called home to God on August 8, 2022. A loving and devoted wife to the late Michael Barron Sr. Beloved mother to Michael and Jill and daughter-in-law Jennifer. Loving and proud Nana to Amanda, Alexandra, Michael, Emily, Maddy, Jack, Thomas, and Cat.
Survived by her grieving sister Joanne (Nichols). Predeceased by sisters Elizabeth (Thorsen), Jane (Steinbraker) and brother Benjamin Salvione

A native Staten Islander, Ellen commuted to Manhattan to work for AT & T at the age of 18 from her home in Port Richmond where she was born and raised. She then devoted her life to raising her children at their home in Great Kills. She was a remarkable woman who overcame many challenges as a visually impaired adult. Despite this, she raised 2 children, went back to school to earn her college degree, and traveled the world. Her 8 beloved grandchildren were enriched by both her knowledge and experience. In her leisure, she enjoyed trips to Manhattan to see shows and museums, traveling the world and going to the movies. She was an exceptional woman whose absence will be felt by all she loved.
