Lynn Cartier

July 4, 1963 — June 22, 2020

Lynn Ann Cartier, 56, passed away Monday, June 22 at her home in Staten Island, NY, after a valiant fight with cancer. Lynn was born on July 4, 1963 in Brooklyn, NY. She was raised by her mother Lillian Teixuro, her late stepfather Alfred Teixuro and her late father Arnold Segerholm. She attended Tottenville High School and graduated in 1981. She was employed at United States Aircraft Insurance Group (USAIG) in downtown Manhattan where she worked for 36 years.
Lynn was a caring and loving person to all. She enjoyed having fun with her family especially her grandchildren Angelina and Leo. Her next favorite thing to do was shopping, mostly with her Mom. While she loved all kinds of shopping, she was particularly fond of handbags and developed an extensive handbag collection which she selflessly shared with so many to remember her by. She also enjoyed walking, relaxing in jacuzzi spas, making new friends, baking, best Hershey’s brownies, and playing board games, her favorite being Aggravation. Lynn will be remembered by her smile, honesty, kindness, bravery and her ability to make people laugh, she could always tell a great story.
She is survived by her son Steven Piontek and his wife Caitlin, grandchildren Angelina and Leo, mother Lillian Teixuro, partner and companion Thomas Clowery, brother Peter Segerholm and his wife Dineen, stepsisters Arlene Beyer, Debra Cutler, Sandy Teixuro, and Donna Teixuro. She was predeceased by her husband David Piontek in 1992. She is remembered in love by her aunt, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of long term friends.
As her birthday, July 4th is approaching, please remember Lynn in your thoughts and prayers.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 3rd at 10:00 AM, outside, at Christ Lutheran Church, 121 Cleveland Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. Due to New York State restrictions, regrettably cemetery service is limited and will be by invitation only.
