Nicolina DeVito

August 4, 1934 — September 26, 2021

Beloved Mother, Nonna, Sister, Aunt, and Friend Nicolina DeVito passed away peacefully on September 26, 2021. Born in San D'Angelo Dei Lombardi, Italy, on August 4, 1934, to Gerardo and Maria Rosaria Curcio, she was one of six children. Nicolina came to the United States with her late husband Francesco in 1965. Nicolina worked as a seamstress for a dress factory while raising her five children. After relocating from Park Slope, Brooklyn, to Staten Island, she became an avid member of the Friendship Club, where she loved playing bingo with her friends. In addition, she enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, and sharing stories about her life in Italy with her grandchildren. She was known for her many Italian holiday traditions, which she passed on to her children. Nicolina was a dedicated wife, mother, and nonna. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, Dawn Marie, Dave, Nicole, Gabriella, Lorenzo, Frank, Vanessa, Gianna, William, Anna Maria, Joseph, and her one great-grandchild, Reese. Nicolina is survived by her children, Angela, Micki, Jerry, his wife Nicole, Frank, his wife Julia, Mary Rose Sorrentino (DeVito), and her husband, Joseph.
