Agnes Jennings

Agnes Jennings (nee Farrelly) passed away peacefully at home after a long illness at 89.

Agnes was born June 17, 1933 in Lisgray, Viriginia, Co. Cavan, Ireland. Predeceased by her husband Bernard Jennings and her parents Thomas and Bridget (Cahill) Farrelly and her 12 siblings.
She is survived by her children Anne (Arthur) Silverstein, Margaret Tomao, Eamon (MaryJo) Jennings and Brian (Elizabeth) Jennings and her grandchildren Paul (Jessica) Silverstein, Jaime Silverstein (Ryan Bailey), Meghan, Michael and Christine Tomao, Sean and Craig Jennings, James, Kayleen and Allison Jennings and Great Granddaughter Scarlett Silverstein.

She met her husband Bernard at the Irish dances. They married and started their family in Highbridge, Bronx, NY and later moved Staten Island. Agnes raised her family while beginning a part of St. Sylvester's parish for over 60 years. She was a dog lover, member of the Mother's Guild, Boy Scout Den Mother, delivered food for Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
She retired from the Staten Island Advance and was a member of the Staten Island Advance 25 Year Club.
Agnes will always be remembered as a kind and compassionate person who touched the lives of many. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A wake will be held at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314 on Thursday between 4pm and 8pm. Funeral Mass will be at St. Sylvester Church at 11am on Friday. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
