Ann Barone

November 20, 1934 — June 23, 2023

Ann Barone passed away on June 23, 2023, at the age of 88, in Staten Island, New York.

Ann was born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 20, 1934, to Pasquale & Adelina Marotta. She was the youngest of five and grew up in a fun and loving home, with her sisters and brother, Rose, Millie, Ralph, & Madeline. Ann and her family were very close, and loved spending time together. Parties and gatherings with her siblings, cousins, and friends, were a constant throughout her life.

Ann married Paul, the love of her life, on November 13, 1954. They were married for 60 wonderful years, until his death in January 2015. They had four children, Philip, Ralph, John, and Paula-Ann. Their home in Brooklyn was located at 2124 East 21st Street. They shared this home for 38 years, full of fun and laughter, memories she spoke of often.

Ann had a beautiful life with Paul, they had so much love for one another. They enjoyed spending time together, whether at home or on their many road trips around the US. Some of their best times, were the 16 years spent at their Florida home in Port St. Lucie.

Ann loved to dance and have a good time. The smile on her face when dancing with Paul, especially to the Lindy, was beautiful. She loved listening to music, and there was always music playing throughout her home. Ann made all the holiday celebrations fun and festive for her family.

Ann loved to be with her children and their families, it was her favorite pass time. Nothing was more important than sharing in her children's lives. It could be a dinner out, or a show, vacationing together, or weekend sleepovers watching movies and playing cards. So many summers hanging out on the deck or in the pool at one of their homes...this to her was true happiness. She loved being with her grandchildren too, playing all kinds of board games with them...Monopoly, Life, Aggravation, etc. The kids loved sleeping over at Grandma's house, great memories that will last them a lifetime. Ann was a fun Grandma to all 12 of her grandchildren and they enjoyed their time with her so very much.

Ann lived in Brooklyn for 72 years of her life, before moving to Staten Island in 2006.

Ann croqueted the most beautiful blankets and sweater sets for all the baby's in her family. She croqueted baby blankets for practically everyone she knew. They were loved so much by one and all.

Ann Barone is predeceased by her husband Paul and her son Philip (7-13-20). She is survived by her son Ralph and daughter-in-law Marlene; her son John and daughter-in-law Rosaria; her daughter Paula and son-in-law Nick; her daughter-in-law Jeannie; her 12 grandchildren Philip III (Kate), Jason (Artem), Emma, Ralph, Marcus, Eden, Michael, Nicole, Daniel, Jade, John, & Jake; her great-granddaughters Thea, Vanna, & Reese; her sister Millie; and many nieces and nephews.

Our Mom was a wonderful mother. She was always hugging and kissing us. She gave us a beautiful life and a home filled with love. She helped us out with so much throughout our lives, but especially when it came to babysitting our children. We all love her very much and will treasure the many happy times we had with her.

In her memory, in lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, her favorite charity.
