AnnMarie Stringili (nee:Buccigrossi), born on January 25, 1938, in Brooklyn, N.Y., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 19, 2025.. She was a proud Italian-American who cherished her roots and her loved ones above all else.
AnnMarie was known for her delicious homemade meals, famous for her Christmas Eve fish dishes, struffoli, cream puffs, and fresh mozzarella. She loved Perry Como, family gatherings, and spending time with friends.
A graduate of Bay Ridge High School in 1955, she worked as a bookkeeper at A.W. Jones and later joined the Women’s City Club. In 1967, she married her beloved husband, Thomas, and they raised their family on Staten Island.
She spent her early years as a stay-at-home mom devoted to her family. She later returned to work before retiring to enjoy time with her grandchildren.
AnnMarie was predeceased by her husband, Thomas in 1983.
She was a devoted mother to Jeanine (Bill) Russo, and John (Gina), and Joseph (predeceased in 1989); a loving grandmother to Renee, Anthony, Marisa, Joseph, Thomas, AnaRose, and Nina.
She is survived by her loving children and grandchildren; brother, Vincent; sister, Matilda; brother-in-law, Joe, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
AnnMarie will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the love she shared so generously throughout her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Special Olympics of New York in AnnMarie's name would be appreciated.
