Ann Pizzo, 89, passed away at Eger Nursing Home on October 5, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Ann was born in Stapleton to Anna (Morris) and Gustave Pinto. She graduated from St. Patrick's Academy high school in Richmondtown.
Ann met the love of her life, Alfred (Fred) Pizzo, and they were married in 1953. They were married for 68 years and had two wonderful children, Larry and Tommy. Ann stayed home to raise her boys.
Ann loved to entertain and hosted many holidays and especially loved St. Patrick's Day where she made her famous corned beef and cabbage and Irish soda bread. She loved cooking and her family always requested her amazing pot roast. When Fred retired, they spent their time between Staten Island and Port St. Lucie, Florida and traveled all over the world. Ann and Fred loved to play golf, play cards, and were well known for dancing the Lindy together. She always made everyone feel loved and welcome. She was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother.
Ann is survived by her beloved husband, Fred; loving sons, Larry and Tommy ( Karen); cherished grandchildren,Jillian (Sean), Tommy (Jordyn), Kelly, Kimmi and Michelle;siblings, Muriel Plante, Francis (Sandy) Pinto and pre-deceased by her brother Gus Pinto.
