Carol J. Knutsen

Carol J. Knutsen, (nee: Schlamp)  80, passed away on October 10, 2024.

A lifelong Staten Islander, Carol was born in Sunnyside, then moved to Eltingville then to Tottenville where she lived for over fifty years.  She graduated from Tottenville High School in 1961. She continued her education at Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School.  Upon graduating from secretarial school, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for Dupont NYC and Sovereign Insurance,  retiring in 2001.

Carol volunteered at Richmond Memorial Hospital for fifteen years and was a member of  Christ Lutheran Church and Nansen Lodge- Sons of Norway.  She enjoyed needlepoint, cross stitch and trips to Myrtle Beach, but especially loved spending time with her four grandchildren. 

Carol is pre-deceased by her parents, Arnold and Jewel Schlamp.  She is survived by her beloved husband, Harold Knutsen; children, Eric D. Knutsen and his wife, Leslie, and Laura C. Benevento;  grandchildren, Daniel, Ryan, Sydney Grace, Jack; and brother, William Schlamp and his wife, Lois.
