Carolyn Adele Richichi, 79, of Tottenville, Staten Island, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026.
Born on Staten Island on December 18, 1946, to Claire and Kenneth Stryker, Carolyn was a graduate of Tottenville High School. On August 22, 1964, she married the love of her life, Al Richichi, beginning a beautiful 61-year journey of marriage filled with deep devotion and enduring partnership.
Carolyn’s life was defined by a servant's heart and a deep dedication to her community. A faithful member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, she served on the Board of Trustees and gave selflessly of her time to the church food pantry, ensuring countless families in need were cared for. Alongside her husband, Carolyn helped organize an annual fundraiser at Mount Loretto to support the dedicated nuns who served the facility. Her spirit of service extended to her children's upbringing as well, where she was an active Girl Scout leader, a dedicated member of the PTA, and the ultimate supporter at every dance recital and school event.
Above all, Carolyn cherished her role as the heart of her family. She found joy in life's simple pleasures—tending to her garden, reading a good book, and baking up warmth in her kitchen. Her absolute favorite place to be was Lake George, creating lifelong memories on vacation surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Carolyn made every season feel special. She loved playing games, spending brisk autumn days apple and pumpkin picking, and embracing the magic of the holidays—especially baking festive treats alongside her grandchildren.
Carolyn’s legacy of love, faith, and generosity will continue to live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.
She is predeceased by: her parents: Kenneth & Claire Stryker and her son-in-law: Paul Pansini.
Carolyn is survived by her husband: Orazio Albert Richichi; her three Daughters & Husbands (sons-in-law): Janice Pansini-Gomez & Ronald Gomez, Melissa Wolfgang & Ronald Wolfgang, Noelle Steele & Phil Steele; her grandchildren: P.J., Anna, Claire, Mary-Kate, Jackie, Ronnie, Ava, Emma, Steven, Ronnie, Matthew, and Julia; great-grandchildren: Isabella, Victoria, Amelia, Luca, Paul, Killian, and Everleigh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Carolyn’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
