Cathleen M. Scotto, 64, passed away Aug. 4, 2017, peacefully at her home surrounded by love after a long battle with emphysema.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, she graduated from Staten Island Community College in 1971 with an associate's degree in business. Cathleen married Stephen F. Scotto later that year. They lived in Brooklyn until 1986 when they moved their family to Annadale, Staten Island.
After spending many years at home caring for her three children, Cathleen reentered the workforce in 1993 working at Lehman Brothers as an administrative assistant. In 1995, she joined Staten Island Savings Bank as a systems administrator supporting the assistant VP of lending.
She loved to welcome people into her home. She loved to cook, host holidays, BBQs, crochet beautiful blankets, and watch General Hospital at night with her sister.
She most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her four grandchildren who referred to her as Grandma and Nana. She was an amazingly special woman and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Cathleen's husband of 41 years, Stephen, passed in 2015 after battling cancer. She is survived by her three children, Desiree (Thomas), Stephen (Melissa) and Nicholas (Nicole); four grandchildren, Stephen, Bronson, Kayden, and Leila; her sister, Deborah (Dominick), her brother, both parents, Richard and Mary Savino, and eight nieces and nephews.
