Deborah Rispoli

Deborah Ann Rispoli (nee Storer), 51, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend passed away peacefully Saturday evening, surrounded by family and friends, after a long and valiant battle against multiple myaloma. A native Staten Islander, Debbie was born on Aug. 28, 1965, and raised in Prince's Bay by her parents, Mary and Vernon Butch Storer. Debbie attended Public School 3, Intermediate School 34, and was a graduate of Tottenville High School. As a child, she was active at Saint Mark's Church where she became a Brownie and then a Girl Scout. She went on to become a contestant at The Miss Teen New York Beauty Pageant where she wore the Miss Teen Staten Island sash representing our borough. She was a member of The Gallon Club as a frequent blood donor. Debbie was also a beloved Queen of the Rosie Shere Triangles, a Masonic youth group devoted to high moral integrity, a sense of duty and the importance of education. After high school, Debbie worked in Manhattan as an administrative assistant at E.F. Hutton and Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc. Later, on Staten Island, she was a receptionist at the dental office of Fredericks & Goss. Debbie married the love of her life, Stephen M. Rispoli, on May 5, 1990, at the Huguenot Reformed Church followed by a reception at The Beach Comber. Together they raised three children, Stephen Jr., Carolyn and Lauren. For Debbie, her family was her heart and soul; everything she did was for her children and her husband as a proud and loving mother and wife. As a committed and devoted mother, Debbie worked as parent liaison at Public School 52 where her children attended. A vivacious and fun loving woman, Debbie enjoyed life to the fullest engaging in many activities. She loved to shop, visit yard sales with her mother and decorating inspired by HGTV, her favorite television show. She enjoyed attending the concerts of her favorite musical performers, Cher and Madonna. She also loved going on cruises with her family and especially cherished the time they spent together on their last trip to Mexico. Spending holidays, weekends and vacations at the family home in the Adirondacks were some of her happiest times with family. Deborah is survived by her husband, children, parents, and her sisters, Donna Tagliferro and Denise DeSane; her nephews, James Tagliferro, Christopher DeSane, and her niece, Lisa DeSane. Arrangements will be handled by Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home in Tottenville. The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday and Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A final viewing will be held at Bedell-Pizzo on Friday morning at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery -
