Donna Albert

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Donna Albert, 86, of Tottenville, a loving mother and grandmother who ran the neighborhood food pantry at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, died Wednesday in Staten Island University Hospital, Prince's Bay.

Born Donna McDermott in Brooklyn, she moved to Tottenville with her family as a child, and remained there for the rest of her life.

Mrs. Albert was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

She was a devout parishioner at St. Paul's Methodist in Tottenville.

Her husband, Joseph, died in 2002.

Surviving are her daughter, Donna Scotti, and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a service at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Ocean View Cemetery, Oakwood.

Services: May 20, 2013 at St. Pauls U.M. Church at 10:00 AM. Burial will be Private .

Visitation: Friday May 17,2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
