Doris Winters

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Doris Winters, 81, a resident of Clove Lakes Heath Care and Rehabilitation Center, Castleton Corners, died Thursday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.

Born and raised in Eltingville, Ms. Winters lived in a number of communities throughout Staten Island, including Great Kills, Travis, New Brighton, Midland Beach and Sea View.

The last surviving sibling of 10 children, Ms. Winters was a homemaker. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, shopping, watching soap operas and writing letters to family members.

Ms. Winters cherished spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially during the holidays when they could all gather together.

Surviving are three children, Jeremiah Winters, Thomas Morris and Robert Morris; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be tomorrow at 6 p.m. in the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville. Arrangements include cremation.
