Dorothy Manee

Dorothy Manee, 95, a retired legal secretary and a loving mother and grandmother, died April 7 at her residence in Sunrise Senior Living, Concord.

She was born in Brooklyn and lived there for 72 years. She then relocated to Columbus, N.J., until settling at Sunrise four years ago.

Mrs. Manee worked as a legal secretary for 40 years at several firms. She retired in 1989.

She enjoyed traveling, reading, family gatherings, sewing and knitting.

Mrs. Manee had volunteered for her church and her children's PTAs, as well as their Boy and Girl Scout troops.

She was a former parishioner of St. Jacobi Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brooklyn, and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Burlington, N.J.

Her husband of 64 years, S. Fred Manee, died in 2003.

Surviving are her son, Lawrence; her daughter, Adele Birstler, her sister, Margaret Reinhart, and three grandchildren.

The Bedell Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, handled arrangements, including cremation.
