Elaine Mazzarisi

Elaine was called to heaven on May 25th, 2026 after 89 years of sharing her beautiful, warm, loving soul with the world. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories.

Born in Brooklyn in 1937, daughter of Frances and Michael Luongo. She met the love of her life Louis Mazzarisi and married in 1958. Shortly after, they started their family and had four children. They eventually moved to Long Island for ten years and in 1972 settled in Staten Island. Here their family grew with 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Family meant everything to her and the time being able to be together and sharing with all of them. She especially enjoyed the holidays, special occasions, Sunday dinners when the whole family could get together. She lived by example and instilled in all of us the true meaning of family. She was always warm and welcoming to family and friends saying “come on over, I’ll put up the coffee”.

Through the years with her children and grandchildren she spent years of enjoyment filled with so many memories at the country house.

She loved being involved and working with children. Initially she volunteered and eventually worked as a school aide in several schools and ended her career as a computer programmer at Port Richmond High School. She loved her job, the students, faculty and staff, and she was loved by all.

Elaine was predeceased by her husband Louis of 61 years of marriage in 2019.

She is survived by her sister Joyce Dantone, her brother Michael Luongo, her children Louis (Donna), Albert (Deborah), Karen (William), Michael (Natalie, predeceased 2020), 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
