STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Native Staten Islander Elizabeth Bennetti, 68, a loving mother and grandmother, died yesterday in Sea View Hospital Rehabilitation Center and Home, where she had resided for about four years.
Born Elizabeth Sorce in Westerleigh, she graduated from Curtis High School. She later moved to Castleton Corners, where she lived for almost all her adult life.
Mrs. Bennetti worked as a saleswoman at Charlie's Clothing Store in Castleton Corners for 20 years.
She enjoyed visiting Atlantic City and lived part of the year in Jupiter, Fla., enjoying its warm weather.
"She was a snowbird," said her daughter, Patricia Indellicati.
Mrs. Bennetti's husband, Angelo, whom she married in 1961, died in February.
Along with her daughter, Patricia, surviving are her daughter, Susan Mansueto; her brother, John Sorce, and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be tomorrow from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, with a mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, both Tottenville. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
