Ernest Joseph Brenchak

April 25, 1929- June 21, 2017

Ernie Brenchak passed in peace in the early hours of Wednesday, June 21, 2017 after a brief stay at Staten Island Hospital. He will be remembered for his unwavering love of the house his father built, beautiful women, and Balla Baci cheesecake.

Born on April 25, 1929 to his beloved parents Elizabeth and Michael Brenchak, and sister Irene Wabisky Bradley, Ernie lived and died as a Staten Island local. He graduated from Tottenville High School in 1946 and attended Wagner University, before serving Active Duty in the US Army from 1953-1955. He was honorably discharged in 1961.

Ernie found great success as a Standard Oil Co. employee for twenty years between 1946 - 1966, and also received many awards for his performance as a sales associate at Wallach's Fine Mens Clothing. He was known for his appreciation of fine suits and his meticulous style.

Ernie was a devoted Tottenville resident and constantly spoke of his adoration for both his lifelong home on Bentley Street, and the neighbors who lived beside him. He was an avid Rangers and Yankees fan, but his true love grew in his gardens. Ernie will always be remembered for his vibrant roses.

Ernie is survived by his niece, Elizabeth B. Conner of Yardley, PA and her husband Larry Conner. Further survived by three great nephews, three great nieces, three great grand nephews and nieces, and his kind and loving neighbors.
