George Ippolito entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 3rd, 2026.
Born on February 22nd, 1936, George was a lifelong resident of Staten Island. He served his country in the United States Air Force, during which time he met his beloved wife, Kathleen, while stationed overseas in England. Following his military service, he soon became a business owner in Staten Island, working in the excavation industry alongside his son, George, and eventually opened a golf driving range on Veterans Road.
George trusted in Christ Jesus as his Savior. Throughout his years as a Christian, he served his family, the church, and others in many ways. His home was a place of hospitality, where he and Kathleen warmly welcomed her family from Europe year after year, as well as his family for many occasions. In his later years, he and Kathleen opened their home for a weekly Friday Night Bible Study would there would be teaching, worship, prayer, and fellowship among people of various ages.
George was also well known for his generosity. Inside and outside of the church, many individuals have stories of how he generously helped them. He also used his ability to operate construction equipment to spearhead the building of a sanctuary for worship when he had been a longtime member of CPC, and during snowy winters both he and his son would volunteer to plow streets or church parking lots.
There’s much more than can be said. His wife would tell of how sometimes his prayers before dinner would linger on as he prayed for many different family members, or how she would find him reading the Bible on his knees beside his bed. He enjoyed playing the guitar, golfing, playing pool, darts, and even video games when he had the opportunity to do so with family over his house. Anyone who knew him, also knew that George had a great sense of humor, especially knowing how to make his great grandchildren laugh, sometimes hysterically.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen Ippolito, and his son, George Ippolito. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Josephine Ippolito; his grandchildren, George Ippolito and Michelle Axon; and his four great-grandchildren.
Not because of his good works, but because of what his Savior did for him on the cross, and in his trust in Him alone, George now rests in the presence of Jesus Christ.
