STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Longtime Annadale resident George Perretti, 55, who cherished his family and friends above all, died Tuesday in NYU Downtown Hospital, Manhattan.

Born in Brooklyn, he graduated from Lafayette High School. He moved to Annadale 30 years ago.

Mr. Perretti earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the College of Staten Island, Willowbrook.

He had a 30-year career as a managing director for Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. in Manhattan. His job involved network security and disaster recovery, and included working with the Department of Homeland Security and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Mr. Perretti enjoyed rooting for the New York Mets and the Jets. He liked to spend time at the family's summer home on the Jersey Shore, going to the beach and riding watercraft.

He was a dedicated supporter of his daughter's cheerleading, most recently at St. Joseph Hill Academy High School, and earlier at Our Lady Star of the Sea School.

Mr. Perretti was a parishioner at Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot.

Surviving are his wife of 30 years, the former Joan Grillo; his daughter, Allison Perretti, and his brother, Ernest.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains
