Grace Ann Mandry born March 12, 1942 was sent to her eternal home finally succumbing to her 7 year battle of various medical conditions on July 2, 2025 holding the hands of her family in Staten Island University Hospital.
Grace’s love of the arts began at an early age showcasing her powerful voice in many venues in NYC. Her love of singing led to reading music and playing both piano and guitar. While the potential was there for going professional, she instead found the love of her life Robert, and decided to raise a family settling down in Marine Park Brooklyn, N.Y.
Her new career, through her strong faith in God, was raising her 2 sons and caring for her working husband with a selfless love that still resonates with everyone her light touched to this day.
Her powerful, angelic voice took on a new form joining first, St. Thomas Aquinas Church Choir in Brooklyn N.Y., and then upon moving to Staten Island N.Y. joining St. Joseph St. Thomas Parish Choir in Prince’s Bay.
The New Year’s Eve parties that were held at Grace’s home became legendary where her life-long friends and bandmates Jonny L. and Joe C. came with instruments in hand, as well as the church choir members, and old Brooklyn friends and the music played until the wee morning hours.
Throughout her selfless life, Grace never spoke a harsh word against anyone, she was always there for her loved-ones with compassionate advice and always an affectionate hug that seemed to last for hours. If ever there was an example of how to live in Christ Jesus, Grace’s life was the perfect example. Her light will undoubtedly live on through all that she touched.
Grace is survived by her 2 sons Robert and James, her 2 loving Daughter In- Law’s who were always there for her in the good times and bad, Rosemarie and Louise, her 5 loving Grandchildren Christina, Robert, Francesca, Michael and Jamie, and her Great-Grandchild Alivia, who by the grace of God she was able to meet.
The Celebration of Grace’s Life will be held on July 8, 2025 at 4 P.M. thru 8 P.M. at Bedell Pizzo Funeral Home 7447 Amboy Rd Staten Island, NY 10307.
