Irene Oliveira

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Irene Oliveira, who died peacefully at home in Florida on January 30, 2026. She was born on February 12, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, the youngest daughter of the late Angelo and Filomena Lamberti.

Irene was a devoted wife to Christopher Oliveira, who passed away in 2018. She now joins him in heaven, where we are certain he is serenading her with his beloved rendition of “Besame Mucho.”

For many years, Irene worked as an Administrative Assistant in New York City and was an active volunteer within her church and other organizations. She loved playing Mahjong and cards with friends, attending exercise classes, and even singing in her community chorus. A talented and generous soul, Irene knitted and crocheted blankets for newborns and the elderly alike. Despite physical limitations later in life, she embraced each day and lived as fully as she could. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved and treasured time with family and close friends above all else.

Irene is survived by her loving children: Joseph and his wife Patty of Staten Island, NY; Michael and his wife Paula of Palm Harbor, FL; Steven and his wife Briana of Jupiter, FL; and Karen and her husband Doug of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. She was a proud grandmother to Brianne, Amanda, Danielle, Johanna, Matt, Felicia, Julia, Marlo, Delia, Bryce, and Bodhi, and a cherished great-grandmother to Samantha.

Irene will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, or St. Francis Breadline.
