Isabel Gonzalez

Isabel Gonzalez, 96, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2023  surrounded by her family.  

Isabel was a wonderful woman who will be deeply missed.  She was predeceased by her husband, George of almost seventy years and is survived by her children, George, Melba, Carol, and John, four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

In Puerto Rico, where she was born, she was a school teacher before coming to New York with her husband.  She continued teaching when she came to Staten Island as a volunteer in an after school program teaching religion at Our Lady Help of Christian's for children from P.S.1.  She was a volunteer who worked with a group of pupils at P.S. 1 in a kindergarten program designed to teach students the skills they would need in first grade.  She also worked for fifteen years as an election poll worker.

Isabel enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, cooking, gardening, sewing and her community.
