It is with a heavy heart and profound love that we announce the passing of our beloved Jerilyn Ann Paradiso, 71, of Staten Island, New York on July 18th. Jerilyn entered into eternal life peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born in Jersey City, NewJersey to Ann (Spellman) and Ernest Desimone, Jerilyn (Charlie) was a true force of nature. She lived a life defined by her boundless compassion, fierce resilience and an unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Jerilyn retired from the Department of Education, but throughout her lifetime she excelled in many other job fields. Jerilyn's greatest passion was her family and the cherished friendships she built throughout her life.
She was a remarkable mother who created a home filled with warmth, laughter and unforgettable meals, especially her famous lasagna. She taught us the value of family, faith, hard work, kindness, and absolute unconditional love. To know her was to be loved by her; she was a fierce advocate for those she cared about and a generous friend to many. Jerilyn loved great music, going to the beach, cooking, reading, but most of all spending time with the ones she loved.
Jerilyn is survived by her beloved husband, Benedict of 54 years. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy and will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children, KoriAnn(John), Todd(Christine), Jaclyn(Ralph), Craig(Joan); her grandchildren, Briana(Tyreik), Julia and great grandmother to Tyreik Jr.; sister in law, Marie and her very many dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at Bedell Pizzo 7447 Amboy Rd. 10307 Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that donations be made in her memory to Pancreatic Cancer MSK Giving. https://giving.mskcc.org/impact/cancer-types/pancreatic-cancer
