James "Jimmy" Sweeney, 77 passed away on July 11, 2023, surrounded by his beloved family.
Jimmy was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 6, 1945. He served in the Army National Guard , Navy Reserve.
He was a Financial Specialist on Wall Street and was a die hard NY Giants and NY Rangers fan Jimmy loved getting together for the Superbowl with his childhood friends for a night of poker.
Jimmy is pre deceased by his brother Patrick and sisters Noreen and Ann Lee McGinley, and nephew Daniel Sweeney.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Sweeney of 53 years; daughters Vanessa Sweeney and Justine McHale; son in law, Jim McHale; granddaughters Brenna and Ashlin McHale; brother Charles Sweeney; sister in law Vera Sweeney; uncle to Mary (Domenick) Pietromonaco, Patrick McGinley, Brian Sweeney, Christiana Foley, Christopher Foley; great uncle to Kara James and Nicholas.
The family is requesting that if you have NY Ranger or NY Giants attire, or any casual wear please wear it. Please no black.
It is a celebration of his life!
