John E. Hojnacki

December 26, 1948 — December 23, 2025

John Hojnacki Loving husband, a devoted father, grandfather, veteran, and community servant, passed away peacefully surrounded by love. He lived a life defined by service to his country, his community, his fellow veterans, and most of all, his family.

A proud Vietnam War veteran, john carried his dedication to service long after his military years ended. He retired from the Department of Sanitation after 25 years, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to keeping his community safe and cared for.

Family was the center of johns life. He was the proud father of 11 children and a loving grandfather to 15 grandchildren alongside 4 great grand children, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride. He led by example, teaching the values of responsibility, resilience, loyalty, and compassion. His presence was steady, protective, and deeply loving a pillar to his family they could always rely on.

Beyond his work and family life, John remained deeply connected to his fellow veterans. Through his involvement with the SSG Michael Ollis VFW Post, he generously gave his time and support, always ready to listen, help, and uplift those who had served alongside him. He believed strongly in brotherhood, remembrance, and honoring the sacrifices made by veterans past and present.

John will be remembered for his quiet strength, his selflessness, his unwavering sense of duty, and his big heart. His legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren. Also, survived by his sister Alvina, brother Henry extended family, and the countless lives he touched through his service.

He will be deeply missed and forever honored.
