IT director, Great Kills resident, devoted family man
Joseph Demola III, 60, passed away peacefully at his home on Nov. 3, 2017.
Mr. Demola was born on Staten Island and lived in Great Kills for 35 years.
He graduated from Curtis High School in 1974, where he was a member of the marching band and the swim team. He then went on to DeVry Technical Institute and studied information technology.
He was an IT director for 22 years, retiring in February 2017. He worked for ToysRUs. Mr. Demola attended Christian Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joanne Demola; his children, Joseph Demola IV, Anthony Demola, and Julie Hiam; his mother, Alvetta Demola; his sister, Joyce DeVito, and two grandchildren, Joseph Demola V and Alphonse Demola.
He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Demola Jr.; his sister, Janice Depaola, and his grandparents, Joseph and Rose Demola.
Joseph Demola put God and his family above everything else in life. He grew up in Christian Pentecostal Church, where he played bass guitar as a member of the worship team, and where he met his wife of 38 years, Joanne. Joseph was a man that constantly put others before himself, he had a heart of generosity, and always looked for ways to help people in any way that he could. Whether at home, traveling on vacation, or playing golf, he loved being surrounded by family and friends. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a kind and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Funeral service will be held at Christian Pentecostal Church Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Moravian Cemetery.
Friends may visit Monday at Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday at Christian Pentecostal Church from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
