Joseph T. Mastrianni, July 18th, 1938 - July 26th, 2022, a Brooklyn native peacefully passed away on Tuesday morning at CentraState Hospital in Freehold, NJ. He was 84 years old.
Joseph was a devoted husband to his wife Cathy for 62 years, and a beloved father to his five sons Joseph, Stephen, Michael, Thomas, and Robert Mastrianni. He was also adored by his ten grandchildren, step-granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren.
Joseph was born and raised in Bensonhurst, and cherished every moment while living in Brooklyn. A family man, Joseph and Cathy raised their children in a friendly neighborhood, and was known as the "President of the Van Sicklen Street Block Association," in charge of all of the parties and festivities on the block. His sons, daughter-in-laws, grandchildren, and friends all loved to come by and experience the many memories built on Van Sicklen Street. In his earlier years, Joseph enlisted for the United States Army National Guard after graduating Lafayette High School, and served for six years. These experiences exemplified Joseph's love for his country.
Joseph's family wishes to convey their sincere appreciation for the calls and prayers that they have received, and for the memories that have been shared by those who knew and loved him. As Joseph used to say, "381," three words, eight letters, one meaning, I love you.
