STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Josephine O'Rourke, 101, of Lakewood N.J., a longtime Greenridge homemaker renowned for her skills in the kitchen, died Monday in Ocean Medical Center, Brick, N.J.

Born Josephine Scimeca in Manhattan, Mrs. O'Rourke moved to Staten Island in 1914, settling Greenridge. She moved to New Jersey eight years ago.

A homemaker, she liked to bake and cook and was known for her Italian specialty foods.

"She loved her family and her family loved her," said her nephew, Paul Anderzunas.

She was a former parishioner of St. Patrick's R.C. Church, Richmond.

Her husband, Joseph, died in 1992.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville. Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
