Kathryn (Kathy) Jean McHale (nee Jachcinski), 62, of Tinton Falls, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2026, surrounded by family.
Born in Staten Island, NY to Joseph and Jean Jachcinski, Kathy graduated from Tottenville High School before attending the Wood Tobé-Coburn School. Kathy enjoyed her work as an Executive Assistant and the people she worked alongside, maintaining close friendships with many of her coworkers from Bayley Seton Hospital/St. Vincent’s Medial Center of Staten Island, and Riverview and Bayshore Medical Centers of New Jersey.
Kathy loved her family immeasurably and took overwhelming pride in each of their accomplishments. She was the beloved mother to Keith, Brendan, and Caitlin. She joyfully welcomed her daughter-in-law, Jamie, and son-in-law, Tyler, into her heart and took immense pride in being “Glamma” to her six grandchildren — Sophie, Charlotte, Declan, Juliette, Jackson, and Liam —who were the lights of her life.
While on Staten Island, she raised her children in New Dorp where she was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace. She enjoyed her years as a member of South Shore Swimming Club. She moved to Lincroft, NJ in 2005, and later settled in Tinton Falls in 2019.
Known for her spirited personality, Kathy brought energy and warmth wherever she went. She filled gatherings with dancing and laughter, and you could often hear her shouting her signature catchphrase, “Party On!” She thrived during the warm, summer months relaxing at the beach and pool, or attending Dave Matthews or Zac Brown Band concerts. She was a lifelong New York Giants Fan, had a love for traveling, and enjoyed spending time in Upstate New York with family. Above all else, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren.
Kathy leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue to inspire her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by her three children: Keith (Jamie) McHale, Brendan McHale, and Caitlin (Tyler) Kovel; six grandchildren; siblings: Joseph (Maureen) Jachcinski, Michael Jachcinski, and Julie (Scott) MacPherson; and father-in-law Thomas (Leslie) McHale. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, family members, and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Jean Jachcinski.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Kathryn's name.
