In Loving Memory of Lois Taranto-Fazzese

With heavy hearts and deep regret, we share the passing of our beloved Lois Taranto- Fazzese of Tottenville, Staten Island, who entered eternal rest on February 15, 2026, at 73 years old, following a courageous battle with bladder cancer.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Lois attended St. Simon and Jude Elementary School before moving to Staten Island, where she graduated from New Dorp High School. She was the devoted daughter of Pasquale and Josephine Taranto, whom she adored, and the loving sister of Vincent.

Lois leaves behind her devoted husband, Anthony, whom was the love and light of her life. Together they shared a beautiful marriage filled with unwavering love, laughter, and deep devotion. She is also survived by her loving stepson, Michael; her loving stepdaughter, Daniella; and her adored grandchildren. In addition, she survived by her sisters-in-law, Lisa and Jeanette, and was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Michael, and her sister-in-law, Maryann.

Lois leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including seven nieces and nephews, eleven great-nieces and great-nephews, and one great-great-niece, all of whom she held close to her heart. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Auggie, who was not only her constant companion but a source of endless joy, comfort, and unconditional love, and whom she adored beyond measure. She leaves behind her beloved cousins; Terri, Janet, Mark, and Teresa, her nearest and dearest neighbors, Robin and Scott; and her treasured and lifelong friend, Marie Martin, along with many friends whose lives she touched deeply.

Lois was a devoted wife and a radiant presence in the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering love. Vibrant and full of life, Lois brought warmth and laughter wherever she went. She was often the heart of every gathering, lighting up the room and dancing joyfully to her favorite disco music. She treasured time spent with family and friends and embraced each day with energy and gratitude, staying active and committed to living life fully.

A retired social worker at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Lois dedicated her career to helping others as an alcohol and rehabilitation counselor. Her compassion and strength guided many through difficult times, and her legacy of service will live on in the lives she helped transform.

Family and friends are invited to honor Lois’s life at Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, 7447 Amboy Road, on Wednesday, February 18, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 19, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 7396 Amboy Road.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the love she gave so freely and the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Her light will continue to shine in all of us.
