Lucretia Imperato

1945 - 2023

Family meant everything to her

Lucretia Imperato (nee Quinto), born January 29, 1945, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on June 14, 2023.  Lucretia is survived by her daughter Jennifer, her son Stephen, her daughter-in-law Janelle, and her precious grandchildren, Matthew, Catherine and James.  She is the daughter of the late Fortunato and Lucy Quinto and the beloved sister of the late Phyllis Peccerillo and Richard Quinto.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Lucretia married Thomas Imperato and in 1973 moved to Manalapan, New Jersey.  Her professional career was spent working in the Manhattan law firm of Freed, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobs and later in a local law firm in New Jersey.  But her greatest devotion was to being a mother and grandmother.  She was an exquisite cook, proud homemaker, and enjoyed nothing more than having family and friends gathered around her table.

Lucretia had a passion for music, especially the Italian music of the great tenors and the operatic pop trio Il Volo. She loved to dance, whether it be at home or at a festive occasion.

Her enthusiasm was contagious and she was often the life of any gathering, making all those around her laugh and smile. She loved all children and in recent years nothing made her happier than spending time with her grandchildren.

Lucretia loved European travel, and often reminisced about her trips abroad.  She also loved the beach, where she spent time with her siblings, children, nieces and nephews each year as they were growing up.  The memories of these beach trips to the Jersey Shore are held dearly by all those who shared in those happy times with her.  She gave so much of herself and would do anything to make her family and friends feel safe, happy, and cared for.
