Lucy Mraz, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 28, 2025.
Lucy was born on July 1, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY to John and Adelina Gentile. She met the love of her life when she was 19 years old and they were married for 50+ years until his passing in 2002. She stayed the matriarch of the family.
She was a mighty little woman with a big and fiery personality. A mother who lived to love and take care of those she loved. Her biggest accomplishment though was being a grandmother. She was the biggest cheerleader and her only want for them was to be genuinely happy in life. She was always beyond proud of them. She didn’t have much of a family, but the family her and her husband created was what she lived for.
She was extremely feisty and independent up until her last days. She enjoyed eating her snacks, loved doing laundry and vacuuming (even at 92). Her favorite channel to watch was Hallmark and loved to watch the sappy “happily ever after” love stories.
Lucy is resting eternally with the love of her life and all the ones loved and lost before her. She was an exceptional woman. A loving, caring, selfless little lady to grace the earth. Those that knew her were blessed and we, that loved her, are honored and no one will or could have a better mother, grandmother, or aunt.
Lucy is survived by her daughter Pauline Lombardo; son, John Mraz; grandchildren, Christina, Joseph, JJ and Gillian; as well as nieces, nephews, a great niece and two great great nieces.
