Manuel Pozo, born on January 1st, was called to heaven on April 3rd. Manny passed away in the comfort of his home in Brooklyn, New York. Manny is survived by his loving wife Olga; his five daughters Sandra, Pia, Karen, Diane and Erika and his eight grandchildren Vinny Jr., Autumn-Skye, Peter, Eva, Vincent, Siena, Lia and Nicholas. Adored by his son-in-laws, Vinny L., Dennis, Nicholas and Vinny P, and his rescuer Jon. A father figure to Anthony and countless others. A dedicated brother to Jorge and Elicia and uncle to Kelly.
Manny was a devoted father and family man. His greatest joy came from time spent with family and wrestling with his grandchildren. Retired from a long career in the MTA, he is best known for his generosity, spunky personality, and inappropriate jokes. He will be remembered for his love of soccer, greater than life smile and trademark giggle. We will always carry his love in our hearts. He will be laid to rest alongside his mother, Piedad, in Rosedale Cemetery in Linden, New Jersey.
Due to extraordinary circumstances, viewing services will not be offered. A memorial mass will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in his name to The World Health Organization COVID19 Solidarity Response Fund. https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/donate
Excerpt posted by Manny on 3/14/2020 “Que hacer cuando la vida nos cambias los planes? Respirar, entender que todo es parte de un plan perfecto, saber que hay bendiciones detrás de eso y confiar, siempre confiar”
“What do we do when life changes our plans? Breathe, understand that everything is part of a perfect plan, know that there are blessings behind it and have faith, always have faith”
