Margaret Goey

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Former Staten Islander Margaret C. McGoey, 66, of Sayreville, N.J., died Friday in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, N.J.

Born Margaret C. Morgan in Brooklyn, she moved to Tottenville in 1971 before settling in Sayreville in 2005.

She was a legal secretary for several years, and also worked as a secretary for the city Board of Education. She retired in 2002.

Ms. McGoey graduated from Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School in Brooklyn. She enjoyed telling stories, watching movies from the 1950s, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She loved singing and playing with her grandchildren, said her daughter-in-law, Maria McGoey.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Victory R.C. Church, Sayreville.

Surviving are two sons, Andy and Jeff, and two granddaughters.

The funeral will be Tuesday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
