Marie Mangogna

Marie Mangogna, 85, passed away on May 9, 2024.

She was a loving, kind, compassionate mom and friend.  Her family meant the world to her. She had such a big heart and had compassion for all. She loved life and was always full of joy and always had a positive outlook. Marie was the light of every room she walked into. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She loved being involved with the Board of Education, she was the PTA president for many years and ended up becoming a School Aide at I.S. 75. The kids loved her and even called her “mom” every time they saw her. She was a superstar around town with them.

She was also a devout catholic who loved Jesus. She had a strong church community, with her daily rosary friends. She had a passion for gardening and loved every type of flower. She loved listening to music, including Rod Stewart, Andrea Bocelli, Neil Diamond, Journey, and The Eagles just to name a few, and going to concerts, and dancing. She loved going to see plays on Broadway, eating out with her family at restaurants, and shopping. She also enjoyed going to the beach and collecting seashells. She loved the Yankees, especially A-Rod, and the New York Giants.

Marie is predeceased by her husband Vincent who passed in 2007. She is survived by her son Guy (Gina), Daughter Jeanine, and her two grandchildren Jenna and Melissa.
