Mary P. Austin

In loving memory of Mary (Nancy ) Austin who passed away on January 30, 2023.  Nancy was a loving wife to Alfred, who passed away in 2014 after a long and wonderful marriage of fifty-six years.   Nancy was a beloved mother to Thomas Austin, Patricia Scipione, and Geraldine Lore, and sons-in-law,  Carl Scipione and  Peter Lore.  Nancy was blessed with nine grandchildren; Jessica, Alex, James, Cassandra, Matthew, Megan, and Caitlyn. Nancy was also a great-grandmother to Madison, Giana, Everett, and Olivia.  She is also Aunt to Jeannie and Matthew.  Nancy loved seeing them and spending time with them.

Nancy was pre-deceased by her brother, John Brown and her sister, Anna Brown.

Nancy lived in Tottenville as a child. She attended Our Lady Help of Christian’s in Tottenville, St. Mary’s High School in Perth Amboy, and St. Catherine’s School of Nursing in Brooklyn.  Nancy worked as a Registered Nurse for thirty eight years at Richmond Memorial Hospital.  She loved working there and made many long-time friendships there.

During her eighty-six years, she spent many summers at the Jersey Shore with her children and grandchildren.  She loved to take trips Upstate New York, Maine, Vermont, and St. Simons Island, Georgia.

Nancy truly loved to be around her family.  She will be missed by all that that knew  her.
