Maryann LaFeir

December 20, 1949 — April 3, 2020

Maryann Felicia LaFeir passed away unexpectedly in Staten Island University Hospital on April 3rd, 2020 at the age of 70.

Born on December 20,1949 in Brooklyn,  New York where she resided with her family. Maryann went on to attend Washington Irving High School in Gramercy Park, NYC. Maryann worked for many years as a bartender on Staten Island where she met her future husband, Edward. Married in 1988, Edward and Maryann resided on Staten Island until they retired to Lake Wallenpaupack, Pa. before resettling on Staten Island in 2017 to be closer to family after she was diagnosed with cancer.

They enjoyed relaxing outside listening to music and having a few drinks by the pool. Maryann loved her fur babies, Romeo and Juliet who brought her much joy and comfort. She was an amazing cook and loved to share that love during the holidays with her family who especially loved her homemade ziti-lasagna. No matter where she went Maryann was always "dressed to the nines".  Maryann was a strong advocate for skin care and skin cancer prevention. She Loved to read Stephen King novels and watch scary movies with her grandchildren. Although her love of horror films she was probably one of the easiest people to scare. She had an amazingly dry sense of humor which will be greatly missed by all.

Maryann is survived by her siblings, Cathy and Paul Pogozelski , Fran Innamoraco, and in laws, Walter and Lillian LaFeir, Marian Isaksen and Loraine and Joseph Mazur.   Maryann is also survived by her children Nicole and Joseph SanFilippo, Marie Sevilla, Dawn LaFeir, Keith and Nancy LaFeir and Bruce and Ann LaFeir. Maryann was a loving grandmother to Brittany, Kristen, Anthony. Mateo, Selena, Joseph, Alysa, Isabella, Elizabeth, Keith, Jillian, Jackson, Toby and great grandmother to Andre Jr.

Maryann was predeceased by her husband Edward J. LaFeir, Jr., her parents Betha Whalen and Peter Kruka as well as sister Laura Stewart and in laws, Lawrence LaFeir and Kathy Bleil.
