Michaele Morrissey (1947-2026)

Michaele Morrissey (78) of Princes Bay, Staten Island New York passed away at South Shore University Hospital on July 30th, 2026

She was born in Tottenville, Staten Island in 1947 to Clarence DeYoung and Helen DeYoung. As Michaele DeYoung, she attended Our Lady Help of Christians school and graduated in 1965 from St. Mary's High School in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. She went onto be a Secretary and an Administrative Assistant eventually working at the US Navy Base Fort Wadsworth.

She is survived by her two children from her marriage to Thomas Marrow. She was widowed upon the death of her second husband Thomas Morrissey in 2008. She is survived by her son, Christopher Marrow, and his wife Kathleen Cronin. She is also survived by her daughter, Jeanne Brager (nee Marrow) and her husband Robert Brager. Michaele had 3 grandchildren, Jason, Katherine, and Zachary. Michaele is survived by her sister, Dorothy DeYoung, and her two nieces, Debra and Rachel, residing in Kentucky and a brother. Her sister Margaret Titta passed away in 2010.

Michaele was a caring, giving person who supported many charities and helped numerous people during her life. In her later years, she battled and eventually succumbed to Multiple Sclerosis. Even while battling against this disease, Michaele's thoughts were always how to help others in any way she could.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 7396 Amboy Road, on September 14, 2026 at 10:00AM. Burial Service to follow at Saint Peter's Cemetery, 52 Tyler Ave. A small luncheon will be held after the cemetery at Denino's Tavern. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Michaele's name to National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
