Nicholas Cappucci

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Nicholas Cappucci, 23, of Great Kills, a New Dorp High School graduate who will be remembered for his warm smile and infectious laugh, died Monday in Bellevue Hospital, Manhattan, after a long illness.

The lifelong Great Kills resident enjoyed playing football and watching the New York Yankees, his favorite team, on television. He also liked listening to rap music.

Mr. Cappucci was a great young man whose smile could light up a room, his family said. He also possessed a keen wit, they added.

He was a parishioner of St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills.

Surviving are his father, Michael; his sister, Alexandra Cappucci; his maternal grandmother, Joanne Siragusa, and his paternal grandfather, Anthony Cappucci.

The funeral will be Friday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 9:45 a.m. in St. Clare's Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.

Services: A 9:45am Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 22,2014 at St. Clare's R.C. Church Burial at Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation: Friends may visit on Wednesday August 20,2014 7-9pm and Thursday August 21,2014 from 2-4 and 7-9
