Paola Dellegrazie, a woman of strength, grace, and devotion, passed away surrounded by the love she so tirelessly gave throughout her life.
Born in Mola di Bari, Italy, Paola carried with her the warmth, and deep-rooted faith of her hometown. In July 1953, she married her beloved husband, Vito Dellegrazie. Together they built a life grounded in love, sacrifice, and fierce dedication to family.
In July 1954, while pregnant with her daughter Caterina, Paola made the courageous journey to the United States. Her determined spirit shone insisting on visiting each port on the way to New York, embracing the world with curiosity and hope.
Paola’s heart belonged to her family. Her home was always open, a place where anyone who entered felt welcomed, nourished, and loved. She met every challenge with courage.
Paola was predeceased by her cherished husband, Vito, and by her beloved daughter, Caterina Deserio.
She is survived by her daughter Celia and son-in-law Joel Turano of Ave Maria, Florida; her grandsons Peter Deserio and his wife Tara of Colts Neck, NJ and Vito Deserio and his wife Jennifer of Lincroft, NJ and her treasured great-grandchildren Gianna, Isabella, Daniel, Caterina, and Giuliana. Each of them carries a piece of her strength and legacy.
Paola’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and the power of family. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
