Paul W. Giaccone
Paul W. Giaccone, 71, of Staten Island, NY, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family he cherished most. For 41 years, he was the devoted husband of Nancy (Auffredou), his partner in everything. He was a proud and loving father to his daughter Lauren (Ryan) Cain, and to his stepdaughters, Leslie LaFountain and Lillian Grecco, all of whom he loved without measure.
Paul was a man defined by his steady hard work and his commitment to those who depended on him. He spent over 45 years as a stationary engineer at Staten Island University Hospital, and for more than 30 years he also worked as a thermostat repairman at Borough of Manhattan Community College (CUNY). Through it all, he showed up, day after day, decade after decade — a quiet kind of devotion that says as much about a person as anything else.
Deep down, he held onto a childlike sense of wonder, spending a lifetime collecting Disney memorabilia and making treasured trips to Disney World, where that magic came to life. Paul was, after all, on a first name basis with many Disney cast members.
But it was becoming a grandfather to Leo and John that truly changed what "collecting" meant to him. From then on, it wasn't about gathering things for himself anymore; it was about finding whatever his grandsons loved most and putting it in their hands. Being their Grandpa was one of the greatest joys of his life, and it showed in everything he did.
Paul had a generous heart, especially when it came to spoiling his daughters — Christmas most of all, when his gift-giving became the stuff of family legend. He was also a devoted dog lover, and his three dogs were treasured members of the household, always by his side.
In addition to his wife, daughters, son-in-law and grandchildren, Paul is survived by his brothers Richard, Bobby, and Geppy, his sister Karen, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Paul will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a doting grandfather who gave his whole heart to the people he loved. His warmth, generosity, and quiet strength leave behind a legacy that his family will carry with them always.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Bedell Pizzo Funeral Home, 7447 Amboy Rd, Staten Island, NY 10307.
