Richard Lombardi
Born, March 7, 1955
Died, August 12, 2025
We mourn the loss of our beloved Richard Lombardi. Richard was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York by Ralph and Camille Lombardi. He attended Lafayette High School where he met the love of his life, Jean Marie, who he would later marry, and where he played in his band, Topaz.
In college, Richard began working in trucking and warehousing. Soon after, he would open his own company, which grew to one of the largest container freight stations in the United States. His impact on the industry was only bested by his impact on the people with whom he worked and the lasting relationships he created.
Richard was an avid golfer, piano player, and cook. He traveled the world and country in business and leisure. He loved to host large family gatherings and hold court with endless stories. He was a life-long New York Met and New York Jet fan, despite many challenging seasons. He was a man of morals, values, and compassion. He was the source of strength and calm for many.
Following retirement, Richard enjoyed spending his time with his family by the beach on Long Beach Island.
He was cherished and survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jean Marie; his sons, Michael and Gregory; his daughters-in-law, Jessica and Toni; his prized grandchildren, Giuliana, Gabriella, Eliana, Alessia, and Ralph; his brother, Stephen; and sister-in-law, Sydney; his brother-in-law, John; and sister in-law, Cecilia, as well as several uncles, aunts, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His gregarious personality and sense of humor will be missed by many. He was 70 years old.
