Roy Allen Danielsen
January 15, 1949 — February 22, 2026
Roy Allen Danielsen, 77, beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away on February 22, 2026, in Staten Island, New York.
Born and raised in Staten Island, Roy grew up and resided in Prince’s Bay for most of his life. He graduated from Tottenville High School before continuing his education at Calhoun Engineering School in Baltimore, Maryland. Later, he earned his Technician’s diploma from Lincoln Technical Institute in Union, New Jersey. He proudly served in the United States Merchant Marine Military Sealift Command during the Vietnam War.
Roy began his career with the Marine Engineers’ Beneficial Association and dedicated more than 40 years to his profession, retiring as an HVAC Engineer from Staten Island University Hospital South. A longtime member of Local 94, International Union of Operating Engineers since 1982, Roy was respected for his strong work ethic, reliability, and quiet dedication.
Roy found great joy as a longtime member of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse. He enjoyed boating, fishing, snowmobiling, and tinkering around the house, always surrounded by his many tools. He could fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved horses, Babydoll and Willie.
Roy will be remembered for his steady presence, loyal heart, and the quiet strength that defined his life.
He was predeceased by his adored parents, Bjarne and Thelma Danielsen; and his brother, Kenneth J. Danielsen, Sr.
He is survived by his sister, Judy Murphy (James); his loving nieces and nephews, Kenneth Jr. (Deidra), Kevin (Amber), Christopher Danielsen (Danielle), Pamela Costanza, and Dennis Murphy (Aimee); and his eight adored great-nieces and great-nephews, Ava, Christian, Noah, Kenny, Gabriella, Sienna, Alyssa, and Vincent.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Monday. March 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, 7447 Amboy Road, Staten Island, NY. Cremation to follow.
