STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Shirley Beltrani, 90, of Rossville, the loving matriarch of three generations who is remembered for her fun-loving nature and her smile, died Thursday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.

Born and raised Shirley Struwe in Brooklyn, she lived there until 1992, when she moved to Rossville.

Mrs. Beltrani loved being in the company of her family and treasured family vacations, especially to upstate Lake George. She was always in the stands at her great-grandchildren's sporting events.

Mrs. Beltrani was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, Pleasant Plains.

Her husband of 55 years, Emilio, died in 2002.

Surviving are her son, Alfred; her daughter, Mary Ann Edwards; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Monday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains
