Sue Ann Mazza (née Perlow), 90, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, in Summit, New Jersey, with her loving family by her side.
Born on August 24, 1935, in Manhattan, New York, Sue built a life centered around family, friendship, and community. She raised her family in Boulevard Gardens in Queens, where she formed many lifelong friendships and cherished memories. Later in life, she moved to The Tides in Staten Island, becoming its very first resident—a community she loved and where she continued to build meaningful connections.
After dedicating herself to raising her family, Sue returned to the workforce and enjoyed a fulfilling career at Mobil Oil. She was an active and vibrant woman who later in life found joy in knitting, book club gatherings, afternoon tea, and even dipped her toe in some theater at the Tides. She loved to read and was especially devoted to her book club.
Sue had a passion for travel and adventure, creating lasting memories with family and friends. From summers at the Poconos house to trips across the Caribbean, Europe, and even an Alaskan cruise with friends, she embraced life fully and joyfully.
A woman of faith, Sue gave back generously to her community, volunteering her time with senior citizens and always offering kindness to those around her.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Mazza; her son, Jerry Mazza; and her son-in-law, Ron Seggio.
She is survived by her loving children: her son John Mazza and his wife Anne; her daughter Kim Seggio and her husband Scott Goldman; and her daughter-in-law Kim Mazza, wife of her late son Jerry. She was a devoted grandmother to Jaclyn Harris (Jack), Alexandra Burge (Hunter), Kelly DeLisle (Tyler), Victoria Marvin (Paul), Katherine Kent (Bryan), Brian Mazza, Michelle Mazza, and Christine Mazza. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Tate, Owen, Keira, Bennett, and Finn, who affectionately called her “GG” and adored her deeply.
Sue will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the love she shared with her family and friends.
