Walter Onora

Walter John Onora Born: February 12, 1957 - Died: October 24, 2022.
Longtime Eltingville resident Walter John Onora passed away peacefully in his sleep. Born in Brooklyn, he moved to Eltingville as a child. The eldest son of John and Alice Onora (both deceased), Mr. Onora was an analyst at New York Life's home office in Manhattan for thirty years. After retirement, he worked as a driver for Bud & Bloom in Tottenville. He enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, listening to jazz, and visiting family. Mr. Onora was a history buff who studied World War II and American history. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Great Kills and gave generously to charities supporting American veterans Mr. Onora is survived by his younger brother Roy who is also a resident of Eltingville.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the memorial fund of Christ Lutheran Church.
