William C. Quinn

William C. Quinn , 98, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in New York City on December 25, 1925 to Stephen and Mary Quinn.  

William served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.  He then graduated from Providence College in Providence, RI and taught English at Bishop Loughlin in Brooklyn, New York. He also taught English at Tottenville HS and was a Guidance Counselor and Assistant Principal for Guidance there for over twenty five years.  

He was very active at St. Joseph-St. Thomas- St. John Neuman in the Holy Name Society and as Men's Club President, Lector and Usher.  He liked to keep himself busy at his church, volunteering at Staten Island University Hospital North and South, running day camps at PS 36 and PS 1, and running night school at Tottenville HS.
He enjoyed vacationing, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 


William is pre-deceased by his wife, Edna Quinn; parents, Stephen and Mary Quinn; siblings, Anne, Stephen, Jeremiah and John (Jack); son-in-law, Stephen Sulewski. 

He is survived by his children, Maribeth Quinn (Ron), Kieran Quinn (Linda), and Daniel Quinn (Jacqueline); grandchildren, William Fodor (Lisa), Cathleen Ready (Keith), Jessica Randazzo (Joseph), Alexandra Schaefer(CJ), Daniel Quinn (Sara), Kayla Quinn; 15 great-grandchildren; his companion, Elizabeth Eisengrein, and numerous nieces and nephews.
