John Aloysius O’Connor born on January 12, 1976, passed away on December 21, 2020. A Staten Island native, beloved son, brother, and friend he will be remembered for his big heart, larger than life personality, quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.
Always the first to help and never shying away from hard work, John was an active member of his parish, The Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 4 and a deeply religious man. Known for his ability to make quick and lasting personal connections John enjoyed a wealth of friends and affected many people with his generosity of spirit. A graduate of Monsignor Farrell High School and St. John’s University, John worked as an event planner, and Operating Engineer through Local 14. In his younger days he could be found Clam Digging on his boat in the Raritan Bay. He enjoyed reading, loved music, and playing the Drums and Trombone. He was a wonderful cook and there was nothing he looked forward to more than spending Christmas with his family, and preparing Christmas dinner.
A devoted family man he is survived by Lillyann and John D. O’Connor his mother and father, and his beloved big sister Marion O’Connor and brother in-law Mo Beciri. His Family and Friends will always remember the love he shared and the way he touched everyone that knew him. His big Smile and his Gregarious spirit will remain always in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
