Maria Bolusi, 93, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Born April 25, 1928, in the town of Saint Appolinaro, Italy.
She immigrated to New York from Italy after World War II and, joined by her late husband, Dominick, started a family in Brooklyn where their three children Anna Carfora, Mario, and Dominick Jr., were born.
In 1965, the family moved to Eltingville, Staten Island, as she continued to raise 3 children. Maria worked as a seamstress for 10 years at the former Rosbil dress factory in Port Richmond. She took great pride in her spectacular garden and was a talented cook, making all things with love.
Maria was the most dedicated wife, devoted mother, caring grandmother, and great-grandmother. Above all, she loved her family and nurtured it like her garden as it grew larger.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Mario and Dominick Jr. and their spouses, Patricia and Deborah. She leaves behind four granddaughters
Justine, Morgan, Alexandra, and Briana and their spouses, in addition to her beloved great-grandchildren Vincent, Ella, Juliette, Riley, and Hudson.
Maria’s kindness, faith, love of family, and devotion to her late husband will continue to remain an inspiration to all of those who knew her.
Funeral from Bedell-Pizzo on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday 2 to 6 p.m.
